Build Your Job Hunt AI Agent

An AI agent that wakes up before you, finds the jobs posted since yesterday, scores them against what you actually want, and writes the application for the ones worth your time.

You need a Claude account on a paid plan and a Google account. No code, no API keys.

Step 1. Let Claude see your Google Drive

Put your CV in Google Drive. Then, in Claude: Customize › Connectors › find Google Drive › Connect › log in with the Google account that holds your CV. That is the whole step.

(New to Claude? Connectors are how Claude reaches things outside the chat. If you cannot find Customize, look under Settings.)

✓ You'll know it worked when you ask Claude "what is in my CV?" and it tells you.

Step 2. Paste this into a daily scheduled task

In Claude: Cowork › Scheduled tasks › New task › Set up manually › daily. Pick the time you want your shortlist waiting, and paste this in.

(You will also see "Create with Claude". Use manual here, so your prompt goes in exactly as you wrote it.)

Fill in the bracketed part first. That part is the agent. The rest is just instructions.

You are my job hunting agent. Do all of this yourself and only come
back to me at the end.

MY STANDARD, which beats your own judgement about whether a job is good:

FIRST RUN ONLY:

  Find a sheet in my Google Drive called "Job Hunt Log". If it is not
  there, create it, with the columns Date, Title, Company, Score. That
  sheet is your memory so you never show me the same job twice. If you
  cannot create or edit it, say so plainly and I will make it for you.

  Also find my CV in my Drive and read it.

EVERY RUN:

  1. Read the Job Hunt Log so you know what you have already shown me.

  2. Search for jobs posted in the last 24 hours that could match my
     standard.

  3. Score every one out of 10 against MY standard, not against how
     good the job is in general. Be harsh. A 7 means I should genuinely
     consider applying, and most should score 4 or below. If more than
     a quarter score above 7, you are being too generous, so score them
     again.

  4. Drop anything already in the log, and anything below 8.

  5. Add the survivors to the log.

  6. For each survivor give me:
     - the title, the company and the link
     - the score and one line on why
     - a cover letter under 200 words, plain English, no buzzwords,
       opening with the one thing about me most relevant to THIS job
     - my CV summary and my two most recent roles rewritten to lead
       with what this job asks for. Never invent anything, never add
       skills I do not have, never change dates, titles or employers.
       Only reorder what is already true in my CV.
     - a three sentence email to send it with that sounds like a
       person, not a template
     - one line on the weakest part of my application for this job

  If nothing scores 8 or above, tell me in one line and stop. Never pad
  the list to give me something.

✓ You'll know it worked when the first shortlist arrives on its own, most jobs have been rejected, and the two or three left already have an application written.

If something goes wrong

Everything scores 7 or 8. It is being polite, not accurate. Reply "you are still too generous, be stricter" and it will score again. This is the most common one, and it happened on the first real run of this.
It cannot find your CV or the sheet. You connected a different Google account. Reconnect with the right one.
It shows you the same jobs every day. It cannot write to the log. Paste the rows in yourself at the end of each run, ten seconds, works just as well.
It invented something on your CV. Delete it, and add to your standard: never state anything about me that is not already in my CV.

If the shortlist is right, you have stopped job hunting by hand. If it is wrong, your standard is too vague, and that is a far better problem than sending another hundred applications.
